Question:

I have 2003 VW Eurovan MV and wondered if these tracks were intended to be mounted in the rain channels on the roof or on the roof itself? Also, can you please confirm that these tracks are compatible with the RLT600 system and if a regular hand rivet gun can be used? Attached image for reference. Thank you

The Rhino-Rack RT-Style Roof Rack Tracks - Rivet Mount - 66" Long - Qty 2 # RRRTV168 are not designed to be mounted in the rain channels, but rather close to them. You still want rain to move away from your doors and not settle in areas you've drilled holes, so the actual gutter is not ideal. However, you do want to be close to the edge because that is the strongest support so close but not in the channel is ideal.

A small hand rivet tool is not recommended but a concertina (accordion style) hand rivet tool is a pneumatic rivet gun is perfect for this application and the Rhino-Rack Quick Mount Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - RTC and RT Roof Rack Tracks - Qty 4 # RRRLT600 is designed to be used with these tracks. I recommend then using the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 54" Long - Qty 2 # RRVA137B-2 to complete your rack.
