Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar Compatibility with Thule and Yakima Roof Bike Carriers

Question:

I would like to pick up the roof rack in the link below and wanted to know if this rack or the Yamika rack will work with it. I wanted to know if the Thule t-bars would work in the rack below as well. If both bike racks would work which would be better for the roof rack below? RRVA137B-2

Yes, the T-Track hardware included on the Thule UpRide Roof Bike Rack # TH599000 will let you install it properly in the top channels of Rhino-Rack's Vortex roof crossbars. On your 2012 Scion xB you'll want to order and install Rhino-Rack parts # RRVA137B-2, # RRRLKVA and # DK152 to complete your roof rack.

The Yakima FrontLoader # Y02103 and HighRoad # Y02114 bike carriers you referenced will also fit the roof rack but these will install by clamping around the bars. For the HighRoad you can add their SmarT-slot kit # Y02122 to let you mount it in the bars' channels. All three of the these bike carriers are good choices so you can use compatibility with your specific bike type/design to guide you; please refer to the linked article. For overall value I like the Yakima FrontLoader # Y02103 and you can add locks to it using kit # Y07202.
