I spoke with my contact at Thule and she stated that you can add a 2 bike trunk mount bike rack to your 2005 Toyota Solara. That does include the Thule Passage 2, # TH910XT, that you have referenced. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link to a video review of this bike rack for you.

The bike rack I recommend is the Thule OutWay, # TH45JV. This is one of Thules newest bike racks. What makes this rack stand out among other racks is the 2 rubber coated straps it uses to attach to the vehicle instead of the 4-6 of other carriers. This makes installing and removing the bike rack faster and easier than any other rack I have seen. It also comes with a way to lock both the carrier and the bikes to deter theft. Other carriers requires locks to be purchased separately.

For any trunk mount bike rack, if you will be carrying women's, children's, or alternative frame bikes, I recommend adding the bike adapter bar, # TH982XT, in order to carry the bikes more level. I have included a link to a video that shows how the adapter works.
