Do the racks stick out enough to clear the side of the car? Do you need some type of extended piece on the rack that is on the car . 2009 Hyundai Tucson

With the Thule Hullavator part # TH898 you will need to have a roof rack installed on the vehicle that has the crossbars of the rack stick out 4 to 8 inches beyond the foot of the rack to fit properly.
So for your 2009 Hyundai Tucson with raised roof rails the rack option we have that will give you the best overhang will be the Malone roof rack part # MPG203 which has 65 inch long crossbars. I attached a review video for this and the Hullavator for you to check out as well.
