It's hard to say for certain by just looking at the picture you attached but it's very unlikely that your existing grille guard will fit your 1997 Toyota 4Runner. The bolt pattern on the mounting brackets look different than what is on the Aries Grille Guard # AA2042, which represents the only option we have available for your 4Runner SR5.
It is important to note that both the grille guard itself and its mounting brackets are vehicle specific. This means that even with the correct mounting hardware for your 4Runner, if the grille guard isn't the correct model it still won't install properly on your vehicle.
The Aries Grille Guard # AA2042 that we offer is a really nice carbon steel unit with a semi-gloss powder coat finish that will fight off rust and corrosion over time. Because it's custom fit for your 4Runner it allows for a no-drill install using existing holes on the vehicle and it comes with a 3-year warranty.
I have attached the written installation instructions that you can check out as well. All the necessary hardware is included.
