Can 2,000 lb Rated Safety Chains be Used on 4,000 lb Trailer

Question:
If a safety chains rating is 2000 pounds and I have two chains does that mean I can tow four thousand pounds gross trailer weight?

If you used two 2,000 lb rated safety chains you'd be safe towing a 4,000 lb trailer. We have a set of 2,000 lb rated safety chains from Curt as the part # C80011.
