I currently have a Falcon Tow Bar, looking for a base plate that is compatable for a 2004 Avalance Z-71 4X4

The first thing you will want to do is consult the vehicle owners manual for the proper procedure for towing your 2004 Chevy Avalanche. If you have a 1500 model, you can use the Roadmaster XL base plates, # 199-5, that you have referenced. If you have a 2500 model, you can use # 3112-1.

Either of these base plate kits are compatible with a Falcon tow bar.

With the base plates and tow bar out of the way, you will also need to add safety cables, # RM-643, a lighting solution, and supplemental braking.

For lighting, the easiest solution that does not require that you tap into the vehicle wiring is the bulb and socket kit # RM-155. This kit will put separate bulbs in the tail light housing on the truck and they will function with the tow vehicle trailer wiring.

Most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake # RM-9400. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. Proportional systems are the safest way to stop and they reduce wear and tear on both vehicles.
