I have seen these type of vents used with a plastic piece that reinforces the other side of the aluminum. Do you sell these or know where to get them?

The closest vent assembly we have to what you described is the Redline 2-Way Pop-Up Roof Vent # RV-626-062-2756. This aluminum vent includes a black plastic inner garnish that's going to help hold the vent in place while also allowing for a nice clean look inside the trailer. The vent can open in 2 directions to help with air flow regardless of which direction the wind is blowing outside.
This will fit a rough opening size of 11-1/8 inches long and 5-1/2 inches wide. Its overall dimensions are 13-3/8 inches long, 7-3/4 inches wide, and 3-1/2 inches tall. I have attached a short video review that you can check out as well.
