Question:

I purchased Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller with factory harness, but when plugged in the controller doesnt turn on. I checked for power and there is power in white wire.

For starters, if you have the factory brake controller wiring provisions then the correct wiring harness you will want to use with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 on your 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 is the Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers part # 3063-P. If this is what you have then there should only be power on the black wire entering the brake controller. If there is not then you have a short, there is a misplaced fuse, or simply a bad ground.

If you can, run both the black and white wires from the back of the Prodigy P3 with the included hardwire harness directly to the vehicle's battery. If the controller still does not power on then you know the brake controller needs replaced. If it does then take your vehicle to the dealer for diagnostics of the factory brake controller wiring provisions.
