Can the Kuat NV 2.0 Be Used for Two E-Bikes

Question:

We have two e-bikes each weighing 53 pounds without the batteries. Will this rack support these bikes safely.

Yes, the Kuat NV 2.0 Base 2-Bike Platform Rack part # BA22B has a 60 lb per bike weight capacity so it would easily support your two 53 lb e-bikes. If the battery weighed under 7 lbs then you could leave that installed as well. The Kuat NV 2.0 is one of the most secure and stable bike racks on the market so I don't think you will have any issues with your e-bikes. The weight capacity of these bikes racks are often conservative figures anyhow so I wouldn't be worried even if you are right at the 60 lb mark. The only thing you will need to make sure of is that the tongue weight rating for the vehicle or trailer hitch can support the weight of your bikes (106 lbs) and the bike rack (52 lbs). If you are using a 2008 BMW X5 then this is not a problem at all.
