Question:
How do I know my vehicle can still make a long distance trip pulling a trailer I’m trying to move from Texas to California

The best way to make sure the vehicle can make that long of a trip is to have it checked by a mechanic. Since we are not there to actually check the vehicle over it is impossible to tell.
You may be able to add a transmission cooler such as Derale Series 8000 part # D13503 if you have the space to install. A lot of customers add a transmission cooler to older towing vehicles to prolong the life of their transmission.
Here are all of the correct components to tow the trailer with the Uplander if you do not already have them. The hitch you need is part # 75278, trailer wiring part # 118396 and ball mount.
