Troubleshooting Install of Curt Brake Controller that Shuts Vehicle Off

Question:

hi , when i plug in my curt brake controler, i have purchased 2 ,same issue on both the dash goes blank and car dies and will nor restart, dash is blank! as soon as i unplug its back to normal. this is with the installed 4 to 7 pin adapter. please note that with out brake controler installed all trailer function work normal,lights,turn signals etc. please help?? also note that no fuses are blown and no check engine light as well.

There is most definitely a wiring issue for the brake controllers you've tried that are causing your issues. Check where you have the brake controller wired on your vehicle as most likely something is not ran properly. The red wire needs to be ran to a circuit that only sees 12 volts when the brakes are applied, the black to a 12 volt power source that is active all the time, the white to ground, and the blue back to the 7-way adapter. It's very possible the issue is you have two of the wires ran backwards.
