For older trucks like your 1974 C20 the Brophy camper tie downs part # HSAB are your best option. I attached a picture of an older truck that is using them for you to check out. Basically as long as the width of the bed rails is less than 5-1/2 inches and there's at least 2 inches of space beneath the lip of the bed rail you'd be good!
For a hardware kit you'd then want the part # TDHP to attach the tie downs to the camper.
