why is it not for use above tubs, showers or range cooking surfaces.?

Trailers do not have what is called a ground fault interrupt on them so on anything electrical, moisture can damage the motor or shock a person. A ground fault interrupt, like in a house, would trip the breaker and not allow power to flow through the device. But trailers are not so equipped.
Even though it runs on just a 12 volt system, the shock will still need to be avoided because it can hurt a person and/or cause electrical problems with the fan. I have included a link to a video review of the fan for you.
