How Does Hott Rod RV Water Heater Conversion Kit # DGR6VP Install in Atwood Water Heater
Published 03/22/2019 >
Question:
Hello again Im just trying to ensure that this is correct part to use on my Atwood RV Water Heater - Gas and Electric - Manual Pilot - 120 Volt - 8,800 Btu - 6 Gal Tank Item # AT96117. Since this heater and tank already has an element where does the DGR6VP plug-in element go? Will it connect into my existing 2 way gas/elec switch? Will it provide just as hot as temperature as I currently get? If not can I still use gas as well?

The Hott Rod RV Water Heater Conversion Kit # DGR6VP does fit your Atwood GC6AA-8 (AT96117) Water Heater. It installs into the drain plug after you remove it. It comes with an adapter to allow it to thread into the water heater. It will be just as hot as the previous setup. It comes with it's own thermostat setup as well.
