Question:
We tow a 4foot x 6inch alum cargo trailer behind our class C, MB RV, total weight loaded is about 600 lbs, Can I have a motorcycle rack with a 250 lb scooter on the top mount receiver?

Expert Reply:
The upper hitch accessory hitch opening part # D210 that you referenced does have a 500 lb tongue weight capacity so it could carry a motorcycle rack and carrier as long as that figure was not exceeded. You should note that any cargo weight in the upper hitch opening basically counts twice since the use of anything in the upper hitch opening cuts the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent.
