Question:
I have a 2008 F-450 Super Duty DRW. I will purchase the Curt 5th Wheel hitch #16245 24K. The custom bracket that etrailer says to use for this hitch installation is Curt #16448-204. Among the many line of comments on that part #s page, it is written that this bracket is carbide to match your Q5 hitch. This makes for confusion. Simply asked: Is this #16448-204 the correct custom bracket set for installing the C16245 hitch on my 2008 F-450? Is there anything better or more appropriate? Thanks very much. My purchase is contingent on your response.

There are actually 2 possible Curt 5th wheel installation kits that will fit your 2008 Ford F-450 Super Duty. The only difference between them is the finish. The Carbide finish on the installation kit you have reference, # C16448-204, is more of a matte (not shiny) finish.
The other option is the Glossy finish, # C16448-104. As the name suggests it is shiny. Both of these kits are compatible with the Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, # C16245. This hitch has the more matte finish so if you wanted the rails to look like the hitch, use # C16448-204. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
