What is the measurement from level ground to top of inside of hitch?

The height from the ground to the inside top edge of the receiver tube opening of part # C11527 on a Chevrolet Trax is about 11 inches. I've linked a video of when we installed this hitch on a 2015 Chevrolet Trax that shows the measurement. If you are trying to find out the rise or drop of the ball mount you need, the next step is to measure from level ground to the bottom of the coupler of your trailer.

There is a recommended Class I ball mount for this hitch part # C45520. It looks like the Curt hitch is recessed under the vehicle, so you need a longer ball mount to clear the bumper. The recommended ball mount is 9-1/4 inches long. You still want to find out what rise or drop you need to tow level with your particular trailer. If the coupler height to the ground is greater than 11 inches you need a Class I ball mount with a rise. If the coupler height to the ground is less than 11 inches you need a drop. I have attached a link below to help you figure out which ball mount you need.

To power the lights on the trailer, I recommend Tekonsha wiring harness part # 118659 for the Chevrolet Trax. The wiring harness plugs in behind the tail lights on the driver's side and passenger side of the Trax. There is a power wire that connects to the battery in the trunk.
