Question:

I have a 2016 Jeep Patriot and want to know if this roof rack can be used to carry a 4foot x 8foot piece of plywood safely without damaging the original roof rack and not becoming dislodged during transit?

Expert Reply:

Yes, the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack part # MPG216 will allow you to carry plywood on the roof of your 2016 Jeep Patriot. I recommend placing the crossbars as far apart as possible in order to evenly distribute the weight. There will be no damage to the vehicles roof or factory side rails with the above setup. In order to secure the plywood I recommend using the Load Stops part # 753-3761. These will do an excellent job of holding the plywood in place but I do however recommend you still use a few extra tie-downs such as bungee cords.
