Trailer Dolly Recommendation to Maneuver 3,200 lb Boston Whaler Boat Trailer
Updated 02/11/2019 | Published 02/09/2019 >
Question:
Hi, I will be purchasing a Boston Whaler 170cc Montauk and the weight of the boat, outboard on the trailer is approx. 3,200 lb. When I remove the trailer hitch from the towing vehicle and want to use a trailer dolly to maneuver the trailer into my garage, what size trailer dolly will I require to push the trailer with the boat on it into my garage? The surface is flat. Can an average size person like me push the trailer into the garage with the aid of a trailer dolly? Thank you.

The trailer dolly you'll want for your trailer that weighs 3,200 lbs is the Rack'em Trailer Dolly # RA20. As long as the tongue weight (typically 10 percent of the trailer weight) is less than 500 lbs you're good. Your tongue weight would be right around 320 lbs. For level ground in a garage this would easily allow you to maneuver your trailer.
