Weight Capacity of Rack'em Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Rack RA-28

Question:

I have a new 20foot x 8.5foot and want to make sure two sets of racks will hold my latter we use in exterior painting. Ladders are heavy. Any help?

The Rack'em Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Rack # RA-28 has a 400-lb total weight rating for its two adjustable crossbars so I would expect that it will be up to the task of handling your extension ladder.

As a check I looked into the weight of several extension ladders; a Werner 40-foot fiberglass extension ladder weighs between 89-lbs and 125-lb depending on the specific model. 40-foot aluminum extension ladders tend to weigh about the same.

If you plan to use two of the Rack'Em ladder racks so that the load is spread out evenly over four crossbars then you should be fine and have a good safety margin too. You can refer to the linked video and photo to see how customers have used two of this rack just as you intend to do.
