Expert Reply:
Peterson Teardrop Marker Light # M116A is a 1-wire light, meaning that the ground is established by the metal mounting flange and the 1 wire is for +12V. This means the flange should ideally make bare metal to bare metal contact with the mounting point on the trailer. It is also a good idea to prevent corrosion by applying dielectric grease # 11755 at the installation point.
