Where is the Steel from for the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Kit w/ Shock Absorbers
Updated 01/28/2019 | Published 01/26/2019 >
Question:
Where did the steel come from? I have been told by the installer the steel in the Grand Design came from China and this will be the cause of the leaf to fail. This unit only has less than 7000 miles on it.

I spoke with my contact from Roadmaster and she said that the steel used for the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM-2460-2570 is from America.
Although American steel tends to be stronger, when it comes to leaf springs the biggest mistake people make is overloading them which does cause them to wear prematurely to the point of failure. No matter what kind of leaf springs you install on your trailer be sure that you stay within the weight ratings of the suspension and your leaf springs will treat you well.
