Looking for advice on what would be needed and recommended for a roof rack for 2016 elantra gt with existing rails. Thanks!

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT has a bare roof so I am not sure I understand what you are referring to as the existing rails but if you can send me a photo I would be glad to clear that up for you. If you are referring to the moulding (see photo) then I recommend using the Yakima JetStream Crossbar System which is composed of part # Y00425, part # Y53TR, and part # Y00248.

I like the JetStream system because it has aero shaped cross bars that are both wind resistance and less noisy than a round or square cross bar. It also has integrated tracks as well as trim-free rubber strips. It all comes with a lifetime warranty and is super easy to install.

If you can tell me what you will be using the roof rack for I would be glad to offer some additional recommendations.
