Question:

I have a 2018 f150 xlt. It has a towing package with no brake controller. Factory one would be $250 installed and needs a computer flash. I have the required fuses installed in fuse box which i guess is an issue on some 2018s. I was just wondering if i could just use a curt C74VV controller with a 51436 or 51437 harness. I dont tow very often so a cheap one would be fine if this combo would work. The directions are kinda vague on what vehicles it works on.

To install the Curt Venturer brake controller part # C74VV all you need is the install harness part # C51436 that you referenced. This plugs into the port on your controller under the dash and then into the connector of the Venturer. You would not need to flash the computer of the truck either.
