Question:
I have an A.R.E. truck topper. Fits the F250 6 foot plus box. The Yakima roof rack key was lost. There are no visible identification alpha/numerics on the rack or key lock. Is there any way to tell which replacement key is needed? Thanks

If the Yakima rack is unlocked then you can use the Replacement Control Key # Y8007835 to remove the lock core and see what code is on the side of the cylinder itself. If you check out the attached picture of the Replacement SKS Lock Core # Y8771-A148 you can see how "A148" is stamped into the side of it.
Once you remove the lock core all you need to do is search our site by typing in "Y8772-AXXX" the search bar with the 3 Xs being the numbers that come after A on your lock cylinder.
If the Yakima rack is locked then you will either need to get a locksmith to make a copy for you or you have to drill out the lock cores and replace them with a complete set like part # Y07202.
