Recommended Towing Set Up for 2018 Mazda 3

We have towing components you can add to your 2018 Mazda 3 though I did take a look at the owner's manual and it stated that you should not tow a trailer with your vehicle so doing so would be at your own risk. If you do decide to tow you need to start with a trailer hitch, either the Draw-Tite # 24912 if your '18 Mazda 3 is a sedan or the Draw-Tite # 24914 if your Mazda is a hatchback; these are the best option because they will be the easiest to install.

The ball mount that Draw-Tite recommends for use with these hitches is the Draw-Tite # 3593, which does come with a pin and clip included. You will also need a hitch ball, either 1-7/8" Hitch Ball # 19256 or 2" Hitch Ball # 19258 depending on the ball size your trailer's coupler takes.

Finally you will need a wiring harness in order to power your trailer's lights and the best option is the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM11141824 because it is easy to install on your Mazda 3; you will only need to plug it into connection points behind your taillights and run a hot lead to your battery.
