The 36" Long Safety Chain with 1/4" S-Hook with Latch - 5,000 lbs - Qty 1 # TCTSCG30-736-04X1 has an S-hook that is 7/16 inch diameter and a good fit for the chain. A 1/2 inch bolt will not go through the links but a 7/16 inch diameter bolt will work well with a flat washer to secure the chains to the trailer tongue.
