Question:

Strap cam42243 is only 1inch longer than original strap, please verify this will fit. Still to short?

The Camco RV Awning De-Flapper MAX - Qty 2 # CAM42251 will use strap # CAM42243 which is 13 inches long and 1-3/4 inches wide. I believe this will work with the newer style awning frame you are talking about. The standard De-Flappers # CAM42061 use part # CAM42083 which are 13 inches long. The Camco Replacement RV Awning Straps - 12" Long - Qty 2 # CAM42503 are also an option. Both of these straps are 1 inch wide.

Those are the only other straps we carry and they will work when the awning is extended. That pivoting arm will only allow connection where the length reaches. I've attached a photo to assist where you can see the customer doubled up the straps for additional length.
