Hitch pin and clips like the Curt # C21500 that you referenced don't actually have weight ratings. They are able to withstand the weight ratings of the hitch class they are designed to fit. Since this fits up to Class V trailer hitch receivers it can safely be used with a Class V hitch as long as you don't exceed the weight ratings of that trailer hitch.
The tongue weight on the ball mount is what keeps the pin from bearing all of the weight.
