Does Installation of Trailer Hitch on 2017 Subaru Legacy Require Heat Shield to be Trimmed

Question:
Does installing this hitch on a 17 Legacy Premium require cutting a piece of the heat shield? If so, would sound proofing be compromised?

The installation of a trailer hitch on your 2017 Subaru Legacy will require the trimming of the heat shield. I have added a cut out of the linked instructions of Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 36493 that fits your '17 Legacy so you can see what will need to be trimmed.
It is a small part of the heat shield that needs to be trimmed and I have not heard of any type of sound proofing being compromised due to this trimming.
I have added a link to a video of Draw-Tite hitch # 36493 being installed on a Legacy so you can see for yourself the process involved.
