If your Chevy Silverado 1500 is equipped with the factory tow package and the trailer wiring light keeps coming on then I first recommend taking a look at both the truck side and trailer side connectors. Typically the cause for a light like this is a dirty or corroded connector. Look around the pins and clean out any dirt or debris that you can see and hopefully this will resolve the issue.
If not you will want to inspect the trailer wiring for any exposed, pinched, or damaged areas that need to be replaced. Also check to make sure all your ground connections are made to clean, bare metal surfaces on the trailer.
If the light still comes on please let me know and we can continue to troubleshoot.
