Question:

Hi just a quick question - do the hitches for my 18 Chevy Trax come with the wiring harness or is that separate? What do you recommend for the hitch? Lol I guess that's a couple questions.

None of the trailer hitches we have available include a wiring harness but one can certainly be added for your 2018 Chevy Trax.

Starting with the hitch I recommend the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11527. This is the only hitch available for your vehicle at this time. It is a class I, 1-1/4" hitch and will require you to use an additional stabilizing strap # 18050 for any non-trailer load like a bike rack or cargo carrier.

I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference.

Then for a wiring harness you can use the Tekonsha T-One # 118751 if you have the LT or Premier model Trax or the Tekonsha # 118659 if you have the LS model. These are both custom harnesses that will install by simply plugging into factory ports at the rear of the vehicle and then running the hot lead up to the battery. They will provide you with a 4-Way to connect with and power a trailer's basic signal lights.
