Published 11/04/2011

Question:

Hello, I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma 2wd and looking for snow chain for the front tires. My tire measurements are 265/70/16. My question, will this Thule snow chain fit on these tires and clear the side walls of the tires on the front? Not planning to go offroading with them, just driving on road. thank you for the advise.

These Thule Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH01571255 that you referenced are the correct size chains for your 265/70/16 tires on your 2001 Toyota Tacoma and should work well for traction in snowy conditions.

As far as clearance is concerned you will need to check your owners manual to determine if there are any snow chain restrictions for the front wheels of your vehicle.

If you are only going to use one set of snow chains on a vehicle it is recommended that you install the chains on the main drive wheels.

I attached an FAQ article on Thule snow chains for you to check out also.
