Question:
Im looking at purchasing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller for my 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle has a towing package. Im unsure as to whether I need or would benefit from a wiring harness adapter and if so, which one I should purchase I was looking at the Tekonsha 3016.

Your 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler with the factory towing package does have a factory 7-way which you can wire the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 to but you'll need to use the install kit part # 5506 as well to provide the connections needed since your vehicle does not come with a prewired option. You will need to run a length of 10 gauge wire (part # 10-1-1) from the brake output circuit of the controller to the brake output circuit of the 7-way (blue wire). The # 10-1-1 is sold by the foot so you will need to order a quantity of the amount of feet you will need.
If you check out the install video I linked to this page you'll see exactly how we installed the very similar P3 part # 90195 in a 2017 Wrangler Unlimited which will be the exact same process for you to use.
