The 1997 Ford Ranger I4 2.3L RWD with automatic transmission will need a drive shaft coupler to be flat towed. We don't have these couplers, but I'll email some help in that area.
Then you can use the following parts to complete the package:
Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Fixed Arms # BX2117
Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380 or Acclaim # BX4330
Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251
Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400
Then you will either need a ball mount compatible or a high-low adapter. I've attached article to assist with both and have linked the pages to your options.
