For your 2009 Dodge Journey, your max towing capacity is 1,000 lbs. If you use the smallest utility trailer 4x7 then the unloaded weight of the trailer is 630 lbs giving you a loading capacity of 370 lbs total. If you use the smallest enclosed cargo trailer of 4x8 you will be able to carry only 150 lbs because the empty weight is 850 lbs. You may be better off renting a vehicle equipped for towing or a van/truck for the entire load.
If you decide you want to utilize your vehicle, then if you have a 1-1/4 inch receiver, I recommend the Curt ball mount # C45521 along with # F-4 and # A-82 for a 2 inch ball compatible with their trailers.
If you have 2 inch receiver I recommend the Curt # C45036 which comes with the ball and pin.
If you don't have the wiring harness, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118474 which is a custom fit for your vehicle.
