Needing to carry my kayak on the roof, what do I need? Crossbars? Oh I have a Toyota Prius, 2018. Thanks!

In order to safely secure your kayak to the roof of your 2018 Toyota Prius you will need a roof rack and a kayak carrier.

For the roof rack I recommend the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack. This system consists of # Y00425 for the two 50 inch Aluminum JetStream Crossbars, # Y28TR for the BaseLine Towers, # Y06123 for the Front Fit Kit, and # Y06169 for the Rear Fit Kit. This will give you a sturdy, aerodynamic roof rack system that will look great on your Prius and work perfectly with a kayak carrier or whatever else you may want to secure to the crossbars in the future. The aluminum construction makes for extremely lightweight bars that will work well on the roof of your Prius.

Then for a kayak carrier I really like the Yakima JayLow # Y04073. These are J-style cradles that can secure 1 or 2 kayaks depending on which position you use them in. They feature built-in ramps that allow for easy loading and padded bases and arms that will cushion the kayak(s). Tie-down straps and bow/stern tie-downs are included.
