Can a Reverse Light Function be Added to a 4-Way Connector

i have a four connection plug the yellow is for brake and signal left green for brake and signal right one for taillights and one for ground I ran a separate wire for reverse will this work

Yes, running a separate wire for the reverse light function will work but you will need to use connectors on your tow vehicle and trailer that has 5 pin locations instead of 4.
If you just need a 5-Way for your vehicle side then use part # HM47900 but if you need one for your trailer side use part # HM47910. These are combined in a package with part # HM47890 if you need one for both your tow vehicle and trailer.
Simply connect the reverse light circuit to the pin location furthest from the ground (the odd pin location on each connector) and you are good to go! You can still use 4-Way flat connectors with the 5-Way flat installed on your tow vehicle.
I see that you asked the question from the Bargman Triple Tail Light # 47-84-009 product page. If this is what you are installing then the wire for the reverse light is the black wire that comes from the side with the silver plate (see attached photo).
