Why Do Some Slipper Spring Hangers have a Bar Across the Middle and Others Do Not
Published 09/18/2018 >
Question:
I have a couple 7k axles as well as 8k axles and was wondering why some slip spring hangers have spacers welded between them and some dont? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

A slipper spring hanger that doesn't have the bar that goes across would generally be for the end of a slipper spring that has the eye. Hangers that do have that bar are generally for the slipper end. And in some cases you would use a bolt through a hanger if that hanger needed to be used on the slipper end. If you look at the suspension kits, such as # AP216-H202 as an example, some of them have a mix and some have all of one type.
