Question:
I just bought a 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2 door. I have a roadmaster night hawk towbar and a roadmaster base plate mounted. I also ordered a Cross bar. It looks fine without the cross bar. Do I really need it?

Expert Reply:
The crossbar, # 910021-00, is not required when using the Nighthawk tow bar, # RM-676, with MX, MS, or EZ5 model base plates. So if your 2018 Jeep Wrangler is the new JL model and you are using base plates EZ5 OR if it is a JK model and you are using # RM-521448-5 or # 1444-3 then you will be good to go without the crossbar. Any other model, EZ, EZ2, EZ4 or XL, and the crossbar is required.
The EZ5 for the 2018 JL is # RM-521453-5, or you will need to use the crossbar and baseplates # RM-521453-4 if you have that model.
