Question:

I have a Kuat NV 2.0 rack and am thinking of buying a 2012 Rav4 that IS NOT mounted with a hitch - yet. Is there a hitch available that will guarantee that Ill be and to fold the rack up against the spare? I have read the measurements, but since I dont actually have a hitch mounted, its not applicable. Thanks!

Yes, for a trailer hitch that is a confirmed fit for your 2012 Toyota RAV4 and will allow for clearance between the Kuat NV 2.0 like part # NV22G and spare tire while folded up you are going to want to use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13149.

The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer edge of the spare tire with this hitch is 5-1/2" and the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the Kuat NV 2.0 while folded up is 7". Therefore, you will have around 1-1/2" of clearance between the bike rack and spare tire while using your Kuat NV 2.0 on a 2012 Toyota RAV4.
