Question:

I just purchased a Tekonsha brake controller but I cant find a harness that will plug directly into the plug under my dash on the RV and into the brake controller. The RV is a 2010 Fleetwood Discovery on a Spartan Chassis. I have attached a pic of the plug under the dash. Do you have what I need?

I contacted Spartan Motors to inquire about the location and appearance of a trailer brake controller connection port on your 2010 Fleetwood Discovery diesel pusher motorhome that is built on their chassis. Your photo shows what their technician described as the brake controller port.

This 6-pin connector should have a sticker or label on it that says brake controller and it should have only 4 of the 6 pins connected to wiring. I cannot tell from your photo if your plug has only 4 wires but if it does then it should be the correct port.

You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2992 to test those wires. One should have +12V power at all times (to power the controller) and this will connect to the P2 black wire. Another should have power on it ONLY when you press the brake pedal and this should connect to the P2 red wire. The other two wires on the connector should not carry voltage; one is ground and the other should be for the brake output circuit that is routed to the trailer connector.

We do not have a custom-fit brake controller wiring adapter for this plug but you can still hardwire a controller such as the Prodigy P2 # 90885. The P2 includes a pigtail connector (and even the needed butt connectors for splicing) that will allow you to wire the controller according to the linked diagram.
