Question:
Where and how many holes do we drill to install the Hitch part#11824? Will it safely haul a trailer down a highway at 65 mph carrying an 1800 pound and 16 feet long motor boat? Thank you,

According to the installation instructions for CURT Trailer Hitch, # 11824, which I have linked for you to view, you will need to drill a total of 4 holes to install the trailer hitch. Two holes will go through a cross member under the car and the other two in the bumper beam. (There is actually a 5th hole that will be drilled but it is for routing bolts for installation.)
The gross trailer weight capacity of this trailer hitch is 2,500 pounds, which is more than enough to handle the 1,800 boat. You will need to consult the vehicle owners manual to determine what the vehicle is capable of towing. If it is rated lower, you must go by the lower rating.
The tongue weight capacity of the hitch is 200 pounds. At 1,800 pounds, there is a good chance that you could exceed the tongue weight capacity of the hitch if you are not careful. To stay under the 200 pound limit, you can move some weight towards the back of the trailer if possible.
The hitch can handle the highway speeds of 65 miles per hour. You will want to make sure that the trailer tires are also rated that high. The trailer tires we sell are rated for 65 miles per hour.
The trailer hitch comes with a ball mount, pin, and clip. For a ball, use # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter).
