Replacement for Atwood 93756 Water Heater

Updated 02/03/2025 | Published 07/30/2018

Question:

Hello, I was interested in purchasing this unit to replace my defective water heater in my 2016 Jayco 195RB. The unit pictured is the exact model I have and I wanted to verify that I would be getting that exact one. I have seen slightly different models with the same part number that would require me to redo the gas line. I am trying to avoid that so wanted to double check before ordering. Thanks so much!

I spoke with my contact at Dometic/Atwood regarding your existing model 93756 Water Heater. She stated that as long as your water heater has a 6 gallon capacity the Atwood RV Water Heater # AT96110 that you referenced will be a direct replacement. You will not need to make any kind of modifications or redo the gas line when making this switch.

The unit has a heating capacity of 8,800 Btu and measures 12-1/2 inches tall, 16 inches wide, and 18 inches deep. Its gas line has a 3/8 inch outer diameter.

@ChrisR We are looking for just the 6 gallon tank as well. The rest of the unit works so there is no need to replace it. Would you happen to know where we can find a replacement? Thank you for your time.

@Rachel Hello Rachel, I am very sorry but that water heater has been discontinued for quite a while so you probably won't be able to find a replacement tank unless someone is selling their old one. I recommend swapping it out for a tankless one. The Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot - 60,000 BTU - 16" x 16" Door # FR98SR would be a great upgrade. If you do decide to go that route you will want to pair it with a Camco RV Water Pressure Regulator w/ Gauge - Brass # CAM40064 to ensure you are getting the right kind of pressure. One other thing worth mentioning is that the # FR98SR is going to be a little smaller than your current one so you will need to do some modifying to fill in the gap. I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, no one wants to change out their water heater but it looks like it is your only option, unless you can find a used one. What happened to your tank on your other heater?
