Question:

I am looking for a hitch for my 2010 Honda Civic LX mainly for the ability to get a hitch mounted bike rack for 2-3 bikes. I am looking into the Curt #C11391 hitch. Will this work for me?

First, the Curt # C11391 that fits your 2010 Honda Civic LX is a great Class I hitch, as are all the hitches that fit this vehicle, but the class I, means you are limited to carrying a maximum of two bikes with your vehicle and adhere to a 200-pound weight capacity. For this I highly recommend you check out the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z which uses padded hooks to grasp your bikes by the top tubes and adjustable wheel mounts with straps to secure your rear wheels. The mast tilts down for easier access to your Civic's rear cargo and the Trail Rider also has folding arms to make storage easier. The Trail Rider has a shank that rises 5", giving your rack additional ground clearance and has a weight capacity of 45 lbs per bike.

However, since you mentioned maybe carrying three bikes, I recommend you take a look at the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7233. This is also a great hitch custom designed to fit your Honda Civic. This hitch has a more popular 2" opening and will allow you to carry more bikes as long as you stay within the higher 300-pound weight limit. If your car has a 100-pound capacity, you would go with that amount even though the hitch says if would hold more.
