Measuring Spindle for Replacement Idler Hubs Compatible with Axle
Updated 07/20/2018 | Published 07/19/2018 >
Question:
Do you have any idler hubs with 1.78 inch inner bore? Preferably in a 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern. Im trying to replace the hubs on a Highlander sailboat trailer with 3/4 inch axle shafts. I have bearings and seals so I can toss out the ones that come with the kit.

Helpful Expert Reply:
All of our hubs have a 1.98 inch inner bore, but that doesn't necessarily mean we don't have something compatible with your axles. The inner race and bearings change things so that the hub fits the spindle measurements.
To determine if we have a compatible fit, you can use a digital caliper like # PTW80157 to get the spindle measurement at the inner bearing, outer bearing, and grease seal locations. I've attached a photo to further assist.
