I have a 2018 silverado it has a dummy cap over what would be trailer light connection. It does have wire connected but doesnt seem to have a hinge

What you'd want is the 7-way wiring kit part # HM40975 which is designed to fit the cut out at the bumper of your 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. The round connector or your truck will plug right into this adapter and the adapter fits the cut out of your truck perfectly.
