How/where would I find out what hitch ball size I would need for a 1998 Jayco 324BH travel trailer? Is the size usually stamped/indicated on the tongue somewhere? Thank you in advance.

The size of hitch ball a trailer coupler is designed to fit will usually be stamped into the coupler's own housing, rather than the trailer's tongue or frame. This ball size information will usually be found in the same area that indicates the coupler weight rating.

Because couplers may eventually require replacement most trailer makers will not stamp coupler capacity into the trailer frame or tongue. It will be found on the coupler itself.

Your 1998 Jayco 324BH tandem-axle travel trailer has a A-frame design that uses an A-frame coupler like the 8K-rated # CA-5210-B which fits a 2-inch ball.

Based on the trailer weight (5745-lbs according to the NADA website) it will most likely have either a 2-inch or a 2-5/16-inch ball coupler. If you cannot find the ball size stamped into the coupler you can contact Jayco with your trailer's VIN and they should be able to tell you the ball size of the coupler installed when the unit was manufactured.
