Question:
Good evening, I have a trailer with a V type bulldog hitch. The trailer is stored outside with all the elements. Both the sliding mechanisms are now rusty and hard to open and close. I’ll probably need a new spring and other parts. Just not sure which parts to get. Is there a maintenance that you perform on these bulldog hitches? I’m used to the common hitches and this is my first V type bulldog hitch. I’m thinking a new spring, maybe some penetrant lubricant may do the trick. Thank you,

For the Bulldog Collar Lok style of couplers we have the replacement spring part # BD500354 and the latch repair kit part # BD024200 which you'd need to get your coupler working again. There isn't a specified way to keep the coupler up on maintenance but what you'd want to do is keep it lubricated like you mentioned with a penetrating lubricant and you'd be set.
